GMI celebrated the successful move from its initially leased space (Bodega 30) to its newly purchased facility at Bodega 23 in the BES Free Trade Zone by inviting government officials, contractors, suppliers, friends, customers and prospects to an Open House Gala. By doubling the manufacturing space in Costa Rica and adding three floors of office space, GMI is poised for continued growth. Marco Fernandez, the Director of Business Development for Costa Rica, said “in a short 18 months, we outgrew our initial space. This new space gives us room to add capacity, capability and streamline our processes”. In addition, the BES Free Trade Zone changed ownership last summer from a Taiwanese based company to a local group from Costa Rica who has a reputation of investing significantly in their property’s infrastructure.
